Jagran correspondent, Moradabad. BJP councilor Vinod Sharma alias Shivprakash Sharma from Linepar Ward-53 has opened a front against the Municipal Corporation. By coming on Facebook Live, he has revealed the layers of corruption taking place in tenders in Municipal Corporation in a 12 minute two second video. He has claimed that he has a complete horoscope of works worth Rs 400 crores done in the last one year.
One company is being given special favors. This company is getting paid immediately. After all, what is this company about? Making serious allegations against Mayor Vinod Aggarwal, he said that if anyone complained about corruption to him, he would be told to keep quiet. Said that I am not a councilor but a watchman. The public has chosen, so how can I remain silent?
In the video circulated, Councilor Vinod Sharma raised questions on Nirvana, an executive organization working in the corporation. Said that the quality of work of this company is bad. No action is taken against this company even after complaining. Wherever this company works in the entire corporation area, its bill is generated by JE Krishna Lal. Payment is made immediately.
There is a game going on with the tenders. When I complained about all this corruption to the Mayor, there was no response. Said-shut up. I didn't like this thing. How can I see corruption on such a large scale? If the public has elected a councilor, I will raise my voice. Tenders worth Rs 60 crore were floated four days ago. Work in every ward has been included in it.
Only Linepar Ward-53 was left. Being punished for raising voice. What is it like in the corporation that tender bills are not being issued. Bill tenders are being made just for show. Work was done in NSCP with Rs 90 crore. The tender was done within that. Did no one just put in the bill tender? Looting is going on. Everything is managed.
If any third work is given then it is rejected by citing some other work or the other. I want to say something straight. If the voice of corruption is raised, its voice will be crushed. I am suffering the consequences of the same. I am not a councilor but a watchman, hence I demand from all the seniors to get the investigation done.
I myself am a Brahmin, there is a Brahmin in the ward, that is why I am punished.
In the live video, the councilor said that the ward is registered as a slum. I am a Brahmin. There are a large number of Brahmins in the ward. The mayor knows this very well. Is the mayor stopping me because I am a Brahmin? There are Brahmins in the ward. To know the BJP councilor's side in the matter, calls were made to both CUG and personal numbers, but both numbers were found switched off. Throughout the video the councilor also raised questions on the mayor. Therefore, a call was also made to Mayor Vinod Aggarwal to know his side, but his call was not picked up.
The councilor's allegation of giving contracts to only one company is baseless. Work worth Rs 30 crore was awarded to 26 contractors. Some of whom are old contractors. Contractors who fulfill the conditions in the e-tender will get the work. The list of work to be done in the wards came from the Mayor's place. If the Mayor sends additional work, it will be added. Development works are being done in all the wards in the interest of the people of the city.
