Jagran correspondent, Aurangabad. The joint team of Dhibra police station and SSB, during the search operation on the hill located in the forest of Jharna village, recovered a country-made pistol, four cartridges, six detonators, wire and other explosive material from the Maoist hideout.

The recovered detonator was defused by the bomb disposal squad on the hill itself. Police Station Head Ritesh Kumar Upadhyay said that all these materials were kept hidden by the Maoists in a bunker built on the hill.

During the search operation conducted on Tuesday, as soon as the police force reached near the bunker, the metal detector indicated the presence of explosive material. Upon investigation, weapons and explosives were found kept in the sack.

Told that the police also interrogated the villagers of Jharna and Mahulan villages, although no one refused to give information in this regard. At present it is being investigated who had kept the weapons in the bunker and when.

The police station chief said that on Wednesday also a search operation was conducted in the forest on the hill. It was told that the Maoists have now fled from this area, but the process of recovery of their previously hidden goods is going on.

The police station chief said that such campaigns will be carried out in future too, so that peace and security can be maintained in the area. Let us tell you that Jharna Hill was formerly the refuge of Maoists.

Maoists used to gather all the time in the forest of this hill. To drive out the Maoists from this forest, an SSB camp was set up after the CRPF in the nearby Bhaluahi village.
