Now the DIG has handed over the investigation of the entire case to Rampur Police in the case of killing of businessman Zafar Ali in an encounter with Asif alias Tidda and Dinu, who had reached Moradabad to collect extortion money. Till now, SIT Inspector Shailendra Kumar was investigating this case, but to ensure that no one raises questions on the investigation later, DIG Muniraj ji has transferred the investigation to Rampur.
Asif alias Tidda was originally a resident of Kalchina, Bhojpur, Ghaziabad. After his father's death, he settled in Rasid Nagar of Meerut and started looting by forming a gang. He included his cousin Khiwai, resident of Dinu, in his gang. Both of them together had committed crimes in the states of Aligarh, Bulandshahr, Hapare, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana.
An FIR was registered against them under sections like murder, robbery, kidnapping, illegal possession, extortion, assault etc. In the month of September, when both the miscreants demanded extortion of Rs 1 crore from Moradabad resident Zafar Ali, Moradabad police also went after them. On November 10, Asif along with his cousin Dinu had come to Moradabad to collect extortion money from a businessman.
After the information, STF and Moradabad police started searching for them. In the night, both of them were killed in an encounter by the police and STF in Bhojpur area. SSP Satpal Antil was hit by a bullet in his bulletproof jacket. In this case, the police had registered an FIR against both of them.
After this the investigation was handed over to Inspector Shailendra Singh. Now DIG Muniraj ji decided to get the investigation done by Rampur Police and transferred it to Rampur. SSP Satpal Antil said that the investigation has been transferred to Rampur.
