Jagran correspondent, Patna. There is no hope of getting relief from the harsh cold and dense fog due to the icy westerly wind. According to Meteorological Center Patna, there is no possibility of any significant change in the weather for the next five days. Most parts of the state will be in the grip of dense fog and cold days.
On Friday, cold day like situation will prevail with dense fog in all the districts including Patna. Gayaji in the state was the coldest place of this season on Thursday. The minimum temperature here was recorded at 4.1 degrees Celsius. Gayaji recorded the lowest minimum temperature on Thursday after two years.
The temperature of nine districts is lower than Jammu
In 2025, the minimum temperature of Gayaji was recorded at 6.7 degrees Celsius on January 9 and in 2024, the minimum temperature was recorded at 5.5 degrees Celsius on January 22. On Thursday, the minimum temperature in nine districts of the state was recorded lower than that of Jammu city. The minimum temperature in Jammu city was recorded at 7.1 degrees Celsius.
Of the nine cities of the state, Gayaji, Darbhanga, Chhapra, Bhagalpur (Sabaur), Sheikhpura, Rajgir, Siwan (Jiradei), Arwal, Rohtas (Bikramganj) remained colder than Jammu. The minimum temperature of the capital was recorded at 9.1 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature of Darbhanga was 6.6 degrees, Chhapra was 5.7 degrees, Sabour of Bhagalpur was 4.6 degrees, Sheikhpura was 6.3 degrees, Rajgir was 5.1 degrees, Jiradei of Siwan was 6.0 degrees, Arwal was 5.3 degrees, Bikramganj of Rohtas was 4.8 degrees. On Thursday, severe cold day situation prevailed in Darbhanga and cold day situation in Chhapra and Valmiki Nagar. The lowest minimum visibility of 50 meters was recorded in Gayaji. Due to Pachhua, the influence of Kankani remained in the surrounding areas including Patna. Despite the sun coming out, the situation of chill persisted.
On Thursday, the maximum temperature of Patna was 14.9 degree Celsius and Sheikhpura recorded the highest maximum temperature of 20.1 degree Celsius. On Thursday, except Patna and Buxar, Chhapra, Motihari, Munger, Bhagalpur, Purnia, the maximum temperature of remaining districts recorded a decline.
