On Wednesday, in broad daylight, bullets were fired at gangster Vinay Tyagi, who was going to appear in the court on the rail over bridge in the city. Vinay Tyagi was seriously injured after being hit by three bullets. In the case, the police had arrested both the accused attackers Sunny Yadav alias Sher and Ajay, residents of Kashipur, late on Thursday evening.
After interrogation on Friday, the police recovered the jacket worn by the accused at the time of the incident, while their bike was found by the police on the night of the incident itself. The police have sent both the arrested accused to Haridwar jail instead of Roorkee in view of security. The police had sought permission from the court for this.
Kotwali in-charge Rajeev Rauthan told that Vinay Tyagi was lodged in Roorkee jail. In such a situation, considering the possibility of a gang war if someone close to them is in Roorkee jail, both the accused have been sent to Haridwar jail instead of Roorkee.
