Budget Session Of Uttar Pradesh Legislature From 9th February, 2026-27 Budget Will Be Presented On 11th, Date Wise Program Released

State Bureau, Lucknow. The budget session of Uttar Pradesh Legislature will start from February 9. The Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council on Wednesday released the date-wise program till February 20. Legislative Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana has provisionally approved the proposed program of the session. Now the final decision on this program will be taken in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee.

During the session, on February 11, the state government will present the budget for the financial year 2026-27 in both the houses of the legislature. According to the programme, the session will begin on February 9 with the address of Governor Anandiben Patel, in which members of both the houses will be present. On the same day, some ordinances and bills will also be tabled by the government in the House.

Death notice will be given in the House on February 10. BJP MLA Shyam Bihari Lal from Faridpur, Bareilly and SP MLA Vijay Singh from Duddhi, Sonbhadra have passed away. After expressing condolences, the proceedings of the House will be adjourned till Wednesday.

The next day on February 11, Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna will present the budget in the Legislative Assembly. Keshav Prasad Maurya will present the budget in the Legislative Council. After this, the discussion on the Governor's address will begin, which will continue till Friday 13 February.

There will be holiday on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a detailed discussion on the budget from February 16 to February 20. The Uttar Pradesh Appropriation Bill will be passed before the adjournment of the House on the last day of the session.

Meetings of divisional and district committees will not be possible during the session.

The State Government has given instructions not to organize such meetings of Mandal and District Committees in which MPs and MLAs are nominated as members during the budget session of the Legislature. JP Singh, Principal Secretary, Parliamentary Affairs Department, has sent instructions regarding this to all Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates on Wednesday. He said that there is already a government order dated 21 September 1998 for this.

The order issued on Wednesday said that if the meeting is unavoidable then it should be held at a time when the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and Legislative sessions are adjourned for three consecutive days. At the same time, instructions have also been given to the District Magistrate and Divisional Commissioners to give correct information about the questions raised by the members in both the Houses of the Legislature.
