Cheating Of Lakhs In The Name Of Providing Job In Srinagar, Charge Sheet Filed Against Accused Riyaz Taplu

State Bureau, Jammu. The Economic Offenses Wing of Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a charge sheet in the court of City Judge (Sub Registrar), Srinagar in a case of fraud in providing employment on a large scale. The charge sheet has been filed in a case registered under sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the Ranbir Penal Code on charges of cheating and forgery in the name of providing employment.

According to officials, the case started with a written complaint lodged by several people of Tangmarg area. He alleged that Riyaz Ahmed Taplu, son of Mohammad Siddiq Taplu, resident of Anchar Dagpora, Soura, Srinagar, cheated him.

The accused allegedly promised to provide jobs as security guards in well-known hospitals and banks and on this pretext collected huge sums of rupees worth lakhs from unemployed youth.

Investigators said the accused further misled the victims by issuing fake appointment letters and giving them uniform items to make the job offer appear genuine.

During investigation it was prima facie proved that Taplu Sai was running a fake NGO named NGO Consultancy which he had allegedly used to commit fraud.

The Economic Offenses Wing said investigation revealed that the accused systematically cheated job seekers by issuing fake documents and giving false assurances of getting jobs.

The investigation concluded that he was involved in deliberate fraud, forgery and using forged documents as genuine, thereby committing serious economic crimes and exploiting vulnerable unemployed youth.

After completing all the legal formalities and collecting sufficient evidence, the Economic Offenses Wing formally presented the charge sheet before the competent court for judicial investigation and trial. Meanwhile, the Crime Branch reiterated its commitment to stop employment scams and advised the public to remain alert.
