State Bureau, Jagran Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday spoke on phone to Tarun Prasad Chakma, father of Tripura student Angel Chakma, expressing grief over Angel's murder and said that five accused have been arrested in this case. While another accused is feared to have fled to Nepal, efforts are being made to arrest him also by announcing a reward.
The Chief Minister told Tarun Chakma that he is personally saddened by this incident. In this situation the grief of the family can be understood. The Chief Minister said that the Uttarakhand government will give strict punishment to the culprits.
He said that there has never been such an environment in Uttarakhand, children from all over the country and abroad come here to study. Therefore this incident is painful for all of us. The government will take strict action in such cases.
He said that after the incident, he had talked to Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha as well as Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
The Chief Minister said that the state government completely stands with the victim's family. He will also talk to the Chief Minister of Tripura for help to the family. Besides, the Uttarakhand government will also provide all possible assistance to the family.
