Congress supporter shot dead
Jagran correspondent, Moga. Criminal incidents have increased in Moga district of Punjab. Here, a Congress supporter youth who was going on duty in village Bhinder Kalan of Dharamkot police station was shot dead. In this case, a case has been registered against nine people including the current Sarpanch of the village.
Attacked while on duty
Inspector Laxman Singh of Dharamkot police station said that youth Gurvinder Singh, resident of Bhinder Kalan, has lodged a complaint in the police station. It has been said in the complaint that his brother Umarseer Singh Sira was going for duty at the Nestle factory in Moga in his car at 9.45 am on January 3.
Meanwhile, a black car from the Government High School of village Bhinder Kalan hit his brother's car. Then three-four youths got down from the car and started firing bullets at his brother. After the incident the accused fled from the spot. Gurvinder Singh's brother died on the spot in this attack.
Murder happened due to old rivalry
Investigating officer Inspector Laxman Singh said that the attack was carried out due to old enmity. On the complaint of the police, on the complaint of Gurvinder Singh, brother of the deceased Umarseer Singh Sira, a case was registered in Dharamkot police station against Sarpanch Inderpal Singh of village Bhinder Kalan, Govinda Singh, Manpreet Singh alias Mani, Gagandeep Singh, Balkar Singh, Manpreet Singh alias Mani, Bhinda Singh and two unknown people.
After the police got the postmortem done at Moga Civil Hospital, the body was handed over to the family members.
