Consumers Of Which District Were At The Forefront In Taking Advantage Of The Electricity Bill Relief Scheme? Record Revealed

Jagran correspondent, Agra. Consumers of Agra zone are at the forefront among all the zones of Discom (DVVNL) in availing the benefits of electricity bill relief scheme. More than 29 percent defaulters have availed the benefit of exemption by depositing the outstanding bills. Aligarh zone, which is in second place, has availed the benefit of 27 percent consumers. The least benefitting zones include Jhansi and Banda.

The first phase of the scheme is over, second and third are left.

There are a total of 21 districts and nine zones under Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (DVVNL). Electricity bill relief scheme for defaulting consumers of all the districts is applicable from December 1. Will run till 28th February. The first phase of the scheme is from 1st to 31st December. It has been extended till January 3. 1.28 lakh consumers of Agra are eligible in this scheme. Of these, till December 30, more than 38 thousand consumers have taken benefit of the scheme. Talking about percentage, it is 29.71.

Rebate under the scheme is up to 100 percent, eligible can avail the benefit of the scheme

Aligarh is at second place in taking benefit of the scheme. 27.87 percent consumers here have taken the benefit. And least 12.49 percent of Jhansi zone and 13.44 percent of Banda zone have taken benefit. In the first phase of the scheme, 25 percent rebate in principal outstanding and 100 percent rebate in interest has been given. In the second phase, there is a plan to give 20 percent rebate in principal outstanding and 100 percent rebate in interest, in the third phase, there is a plan to give 15 percent rebate in principal and 100 percent rebate in interest. Registration can be done by depositing two thousand rupees, the balance has to be deposited within 30 days.
