Digital Desk, Patna. Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has released the detailed calendar of competitive examinations to be held till 2026, but controversy has arisen due to the absence of mention of teacher recruitment examination TRE-4 in it. As soon as the calendar was released, resentment spread among the teacher candidates. Candidates say that not including TRE-4 even after a long wait raises questions on the intentions of the government and the commission.
Student leader Dilip Kumar will hold press conference today
Student leader Dilip Kumar will hold a press conference today at 12 noon regarding TRE-4 being missing from the calendar. It is believed that the strategy and program of the further movement will be announced during this period. Candidates allege that TRE-4 is being deliberately postponed, due to which the future of thousands of candidates is hanging in the balance.
More than 50 recruitments in the calendar, TRE-4 missing
The BPSC calendar released on Monday gives probable dates for more than 50 recruitments, including 70th, 71st and 72nd combined competitive examination, judicial services, APO, technical and administrative posts. Apart from this, recruitments like Special Teacher and Assistant Education Development Officer are also mentioned, but TRE-4 is not named anywhere. This has become a major reason for the resentment of the teacher candidates.
Announcement of movement on 9th February
All Bihar Student Union leader Khushboo Pathak has already opened a front against the government and the commission. He said that the candidates have been waiting for TRE-4 for the last two years, but no concrete initiative is being taken. Khushboo Pathak has announced a big movement in Patna on 9th February, which will start from Patna College and go till the assembly siege.
Questions on vacancy promises also
Teacher candidates allege that the government had earlier promised recruitment to more than one lakh teacher posts, which was later reduced to about 26 thousand. Now the situation is such that even that much vacancy does not seem to be assured. Student organizations say that announcements are made, but the situation on the ground is not clear.
Government's stand and prospects of TRE-4
The Education Minister had recently said that 2.70 lakh teachers have been appointed in Bihar in two years and the recruitment is completely done under the government process. According to him, TRE-4 is stalled due to delay in elections and roster clearance. The minister had also indicated that this time there is a possibility of recruitment on about 25 thousand teacher posts and steps will be taken towards TRE-4 as soon as the roster process is completed.
