Jagran correspondent, Ramnagar. A tourist has been banned for six months for using a walkie talkie in the Jhirna tourist zone of Corbett Park. In the morning shift of Wednesday, a group of tourists from Lucknow had gone to visit Jhirna Tourism Zone in six gypsies. Meanwhile, a tourist traveling in a gypsy was found using a walkie talkie.

On receiving the information, Corbett employees reached the spot. Let us tell you that using any type of radio frequency communication equipment without permission within the protected area is against the rules. In this matter, Corbett Deputy Director Rahul Mishra got the investigation done by the Forest Range Officer in-charge, Eco Tourism Unit. In-charge Forest Range Officer, Eco Tourism Unit gave notice to the concerned tourist and gypsy driver for written statement. In which the gypsy driver told that the driver told that he was not aware or aware that the tourist sitting behind had a walkie talkie.

The tourist admitted to taking the walkie-talkie into the protected area. Said to have no information in this regard. When a satisfactory reply was not received, it was considered a clear violation of the tourism rules of Corbett Tiger Reserve. It is against the rules to use any type of radio frequency communication equipment without permission within the protected area. The department believes that the walkie talkie could have been used by tourists to spot the tiger. If any of the six Gypsy tourists saw a tiger, he would call the others to the spot by informing them through walkie talkie.

Corbett Director Saket Badola said that the tourist has been blacklisted for violating the guidelines issued for tourism by the Chief Conservator of Forests, Wildlife, Uttarakhand. Tourist entry into Corbett has been banned for six months. If the tourist comes to Corbett within six months, a case will be registered against him under sections of entering Corbett without permission.
