Jagran correspondent, Bhagalpur. The Municipal Corporation will open four petrol pumps in the urban area. The first station will open in Tatarpur warehouse. The search for land for the other three stations has been started. Apart from petrol and diesel, the facility of e-charging and CNG will also be available in these pumps.

This will not only provide convenience to the city residents, more than 300 vehicles of the corporation will also be freed from the hassle of filling oil here and there. Regarding this, the representative of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) gave a presentation before the Municipal Commissioner on Thursday.

The paper process has also been completed. Soon there will be an agreement between the corporation and HPCL, after which the construction of the petrol pump will start. This pump will promote fuel supply system as well as green energy.

It may be noted that the then Municipal Commissioner (now Divisional Commissioner) Avnish Kumar Singh had taken the initiative for this. Then the then Municipal Commissioner Shubham Kumar and now the present Municipal Commissioner Kislay Kushwaha are playing an active role.

will not have to be dependent

The Municipal Corporation has more than 300 vehicles for cleaning, fogging, water supply, lighting and administrative works. If the petrol pump is operated under its supervision, the corporation will not have to depend on filling petrol and diesel in its vehicles. Besides, digital records of fuel consumption and payment can also be maintained.

Corporation's land, the company will bear the expenses

The petrol pump will be installed on corporation land. The corporation will not have to make any direct capital investment in its construction and operation. The oil company will construct the pump at its own expense. This will provide business to the companies, while the corporation will benefit from transparency in fuel supply and potential revenue. The corporation will also get a source of additional income.

Electric and CNG stations also considered

In view of the increasing pollution and increasing number of electric vehicles in the city, the corporation is also thinking of opening electric vehicle charging stations and CNG stations. If sufficient charging stations are available in the city, people will be encouraged to adopt electric vehicles. This will reduce air pollution and improve the environment of the city.

A proposal has been received from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for the petrol pump. The paperwork process regarding the agreement is going on. Soon the city will get a petrol pump. -Kislay Kushwaha, Municipal Commissioner, Bhagalpur
