Trouble In Booking Safari In PTR: Tourists Returning Disappointed Due To Lack Of Online Facility, Know What Is The Whole Matter

Crowd of tourists at Mustafabad booking counter

Bahjat Khan, Madhotanda. Tourists doing safari in Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR) are facing a lot of trouble due to the irregularities. Tourists coming from different states of India are not able to get safari here when the tourism is full. Actually, online facility for booking safari vehicles is not available in PTR. Here safaris are booked at the booking counter only.

The name of PTR has become famous in the country and the world. Tourists from all over the world come here to see the view of nature. But whenever the number of tourists here is high or the tourism becomes full, then the tourists have to face a lot of problems. The biggest reason for the trouble of tourists is that there is no online booking of safari vehicles here.

Only six safari vehicles of Forest Corporation are booked online. Whereas about 90 safari vehicles are present in the Tiger Reserve. To book these, tourists have to come to the booking counter themselves. In such a situation, when the number of tourists is high or tourism becomes full on Saturday, Sunday or other holidays.

Due to this, tourists coming from far away places have to stand in long queues at the booking counter to book safari. In case the tours are full, tourists coming later are not able to get safari vehicles. In such a situation, most of the tourists have to return to the Tiger Reserve without safari.

When tourists do not get a safari after traveling hundreds of kilometers, they return disappointed. Even such a long journey proves useless for them. At the beginning of this year's tourism season, the Divisional Forest Officer had asked to make efforts to start online safari booking, but no decision has been taken yet.

452 foreign tourists had reached PTR in the year 2024-25. In the entire tourist season, 56289 tourists had enjoyed the jungle safari. This time twenty thousand tourists have come here. There is no facility for online safari booking. Only corporation vehicles are booked online. But advance booking of safari can be done at the divisional office.
