State Bureau, Jagran Jammu Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has given a clear indication that Pakistan, which is fueling terrorism, should desist, saying that if we had wanted, we could have done a lot in response to the Pahalgam attack. The Army displayed bravery and patience in Operation Sindoor. The Defense Minister said that strong connectivity played a major role in making Operation Sindoor historic. In retaliation after the Pahalgam attack, our army did as much as was necessary. The Defense Minister said that such a big operation was possible because our connectivity is strong. Our forces delivered their equipment at the right time to take action during Operation Vermillion. After inaugurating 125 development projects built at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore in 7 states and two union territories of the country on Sunday at Shyok, near the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh, the Defense Minister said that the forces executed Operation Vermillion effectively. Expressing gratitude to the people for supporting the forces, the Defense Minister said that this connectivity gives us a different identity in the world. Describing the development of border infrastructure as a priority of the Modi government, the Defense Minister said that today our soldiers are standing strong on the borders of the country with good roads, real time communication, satellite sport, surveillance network and logistics sport. Paying tribute to the martyrs of the army, the Defense Minister said that this project is a tribute to those martyrs who sacrificed their lives while serving the country. He said that this is the first time that the Border Roads Organization has dedicated 125 projects simultaneously to the country. The Defense Minister has said that every minute, every second of the life of a soldier on the border is important. Therefore, connectivity should be limited to only network, optical fiber, drones and radar and should be seen as the backbone of this security. Citing the modernization of the Army, the Defense Minister said that the strength of smart facing, integrated command system, surveillance system proves that connectivity and security are no longer separate from each other. Multi-purpose development of marginal areas affects everyone. The Defense Minister said that 125 strategically important projects, including the strategically important Shyok Tunnel, inaugurated in the Union Territory of Ladakh, will increase the mobility of the forces and will make it easier to reach forward areas if needed. The development projects dedicated to the country include 28 roads and 93 bridges. The Defense Minister said that along with strengthening the connectivity in the border areas, these projects have also led to an unprecedented increase in the strategic capability of the armed forces. With the opening of the Shyok Tunnel, uninterrupted movement along the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh has become possible throughout the year, which has strengthened the deployment of the Army and the logistics sector. On this occasion, the Defense Minister appreciated the efforts of the Border Roads Organization and said that rapid construction of roads, bridges and tunnels in the border areas is important for national security, this will also boost development in the border areas. He said that these projects will not only meet the military requirements but will also provide better transport facilities to the local population, increase tourism and opportunity for economic development. Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Kavinder Gupta, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Army Commander of the Northern Command Lieutenant General Prateek Sharma and GOC of the Fire and Fury Corps of the Army and many other senior officers were also present at the inauguration ceremony of 125 important projects from Shyok. Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors and Union Ministers of many states of the country, Dr. Jitendra Singh joined the program through video conferencing. He said that the strong communication network also enables regular interaction with soldiers across the country. Reaffirming the government's commitment to deepening engagement with border areas, including Ladakh, he said communication should not be seen only in terms of infrastructure. It is a very broad term. Communication is essential for peace, harmony and understanding of society. He said that better connectivity is also strengthening national security capabilities and regional economic development. Citing the 8.2 percent GDP growth recorded in the second quarter of the ongoing fiscal year, Singh said better communication networks supported by government reforms have contributed to this economic momentum. Rajnath Singh also reviewed the security situation along the Line of Actual Control with China in eastern Ladakh during his visit to Shyok. He also took information from senior army officers about the ground situation in the area, security challenges and the preparations made to face them. He also boosted the morale of the Indian Army soldiers who were manning the front to foil every design of the enemy amidst the challenges of winter.
