Jagran correspondent, Agra. Gyanendra Dutt Sharma (GD Sharma), former secretary of Agra District Cricket Association, accused in a fraud of Rs 9 lakh, has not got relief.
The District Sessions Court has rejected his anticipatory bail application. Now action can be taken against them. Madan Mohan Mishra, director of Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA), had filed a case against GD Sharma in the police station barber market in the year 2021.
GD Sharma is accused of misusing his position while being the secretary of Agra Cricket Association from 2004 to 2014. They created fake bills and withdrew money in the name of companies which actually did not exist. Also took personal benefit from the organization's funds.
The government advocate said in the court that this is a serious case of economic crime. The evidence is strong, so anticipatory bail cannot be granted. Sessions Judge Sanjay Kumar Malik dismissed the petition after hearing both the sides.
GD Sharma's advocate claimed that this is a civil dispute and he has been falsely implicated. Earlier, Allahabad High Court had also rejected his petition. GD Sharma was contacted to know his side of the matter, but he neither picked up the phone nor responded.
