Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. A campaign against copycats was launched on Friday by Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University. During this period, a total of 19 students were caught using unfair means. Nine students have been caught with mobile phones. Action has been taken against everyone for using unfair means.

On Friday, the examination for subjects like MSc Agriculture, BBA and MBA etc. was held in the Diksha Bhavan of the University in the shift of 9 am to 12 noon. Only after the examination started, when the room invigilators saw some students with mobile phones and copied material, they complained about it to the center administrator.

The students were warned by the center administrator, yet the students did not listen. After this the Board of Control was informed about this. The members of the Board of Control under the leadership of Assistant Director Dr. Ved Prakash Rai, with the help of security personnel, started searching each room and the students.

In the first shift, copying material was recovered from a total of 12 students. A smartphone was found near eight of them. Four others were found with handwritten and scanned photocopies of the guide. Everyone's question papers and answer sheets were confiscated and duplicate copies were given to them.

In the second shift also, the controlling board caught two girl students appearing for the B.Ed examination with copied material. In this, a mobile phone was found from one person and copied material related to the subject was found from the other. In Sant Vinoba College, Deoria also, five students were caught with copying material during the examination.

According to the information received from the university, most of the students are taking advantage of wearing more clothes due to cold and easily taking the copying material to the room. Controller of Examinations Dr. Kuldeep Singh said that a total of 1 lakh 73 thousand 43 students took the examination at various centers on Friday, while 1697 remained absent. He confirmed action against 19 students for using unfair means.
