Death Toll In Bengal Fire Rises To 27, Many People Still Missing

Fire took 27 lives in Bengal.

State Bureau, Kolkata. The death toll in the fire incident at Momo factory and two warehouses in Anandapur, Kolkata has increased to 27, while 25 people are still missing. The officers provided this information.

Police sources said that bodies of two more people were recovered from the burnt godowns of Anandpur on Saturday, taking the death toll to 27.

Meanwhile, the formation of the SIT a week after the incident is raising questions over the officers suddenly becoming active after such a long time. On the morning of 26 January, a fire broke out in the warehouse of Pushpanjali Decorator and Wao Momo factory.

Police sources said the SIT will investigate everything, including examining forensic reports, DNA testing of the deceased and identifying irregularities in the factory. Narendrapur police has arrested the manager and deputy manager of the momo manufacturing company.

War of words on the arrest of Gangadhar Das

Earlier, Pushpanjali Decorator's warehouse owner Gangadhar Das was arrested. Due to this incident, a war of words has started between Trinamool Congress and BJP, in which BJP has accused the Mamata Banerjee government of protecting the real culprits behind the incident.
