On closure of Delhi Finance Commission, Devendra Yadav called it an anti-poor step.

State Bureau, New Delhi. Delhi Congress President Devendra Yadav has launched a scathing attack on the Delhi government over the closure of Delhi Finance Commission. He said that the government has shown insensitive attitude towards the poor, unemployed and small businessmen by abolishing the commission as soon as it completed one year.

According to Yadav, closure of the Commission will affect the facility of loans at concessional rates to self-employed, startups, MSMEs and small and big businesses. He said that institutions like Khadi Gram Udyog are also showing their inability to provide financial assistance, which will affect the livelihood of the people. The Congress leader raised the question that if the government closes its own financial institution, then how will its claim of developing Delhi be fulfilled.

He said that this corporation provided financial assistance to many service and manufacturing sectors including hospitals, nursing homes, tourism, hotel-restaurants, electronics-software industry, beauty salons. Yadav demanded from the Lieutenant Governor that an inquiry should have been conducted into the financial losses and inactions before closing down the corporation.
