Jagran correspondent, Sambhal. Due to dense fog and severe cold in the district, the weather is completely cold and life seems to be affected since the beginning of the day.

Visibility was greatly reduced due to dense fog in the morning, due to which the speed of vehicles on the roads remained slow and common people faced problems in transportation.

Today the minimum temperature of the district has been recorded at 6.3 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature is expected to be 19 degrees Celsius. The humidity level remains around 90 percent, due to which the effect of winter is being felt more acutely.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the effect of western disturbance remains active and its effect is likely to last for the next five days, due to which fog, cold wind and low temperature conditions may persist.

People are seen resorting to bonfires to protect themselves from the cold, while there is relatively less traffic in the markets and public places in the morning.

Although holiday has been declared in schools up to class eight in the district, studies are continuing in classes above that, due to which children were seen going to school in the morning amidst dense fog.

The Meteorological Department estimates that there is no possibility of much increase in temperature in the coming days and the effect of winter may persist.
