Jagran correspondent, Jalandhar. Due to dense fog in Jalandhar on Sunday morning, a Verka milk cart fell into a dirty drain on Maqsudan Road from DAV College flyover. It is fortunate that the driver narrowly escaped this accident. The driver has blamed the local administration for this accident.
Accident due to zero visibility
Jasveer Singh, who was driving Verka milk cart, said that there was havoc of fog in the early morning. Due to zero visibility nothing was visible on the road. He was going towards Maqsudan from DAV flyover. Due to the administration not putting any marking or warning board on the dirty drain and due to dense fog, the vehicle fell into the dirty drain.
Police team engaged in investigation
Kulwinder Singh, police officer of Police Station 1, who reached the spot, said, "Verka's car was coming from DAV College, but due to dense fog the driver could not see anything." Due to this the vehicle fell into the dirty drain. It is fortunate that there was no loss of life in the accident. He along with his team is engaged in investigation.
Demand to install sign board
At the same time, the local people made serious allegations against the administration. He says that even before this the vehicle had fallen into the dirty drain two to three times, but still no concrete arrangements were made by the administration. He has appealed to build a warning board or wall in front of the dirty drain, so that accidents can be controlled.
