Law correspondent, Patna. Patna High Court Chief Justice Sangam Kumar Sahu on Friday inaugurated the new e-filing center in the court premises. This is being considered an important and effective initiative towards modernization of the judicial system.

On this occasion, Justice Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said that the e-filing center will prove to be a milestone in the direction of giving modern form to technical services. This will bring transparency and speed in various types of filing processes.

Now the cases being filed will be processed through computerization and digitization, which will provide convenience to the advocates and court personnel. Chief Justice Sahu said that the judiciary will have to keep pace with the times.

He told that in the past he had also encouraged paperless court system in Orissa. At present their court has been made completely paperless and other courts are also being made paperless in a phased manner.

The target is to make at least one magistrate and one special court in every district of the state paperless by March 2026. Bihar Advocate General PK Shahi along with judges, officers and advocates were present in the programme. The Advocate General said that digital filing will speed up the disposal of pending cases and significantly improve the efficiency of the court.
