Jagran correspondent, Sitapur. An e-rickshaw driver died during treatment in Lucknow on the 29th day after being bitten by a dog. The family members have performed the last rites. However, a team from the Health Department will reach the house of the deceased on Friday and investigate.

Earlier in the year 2018, 17 people including 13 children had died in Khairabad area. Then Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who came to meet the victims, had given orders to capture the dogs, but till now no arrangements have been made. There is anger among the people due to this.

55 year old Sarwar son Rajju Khan, resident of Behta ward of Mahmudabad Municipality, used to drive an e-rickshaw. On December 9, a stray dog in the town had bitten him on his hand and leg at Chikmandi intersection. After this he reached Community Health Center Mahmudabad for treatment. Anti Rabies Vaccine (ARV) was administered here.

When the wound was large, he was referred to Lucknow due to lack of anti-rabies serum (ARC). The family members took him to Lucknow for treatment. He died on Thursday during treatment after receiving serum here. On the other hand, it is being told that on the same day, a stray dog had bitten and injured many people. Everyone is scared after the death of the e-rickshaw driver.

After the dog bite, the e-rickshaw driver came on December 9 and was fitted with ARV. As the wound was severe, he was sent to Lucknow to get ARC fitted. A team will be sent for investigation on Friday.
