Effect Of Purushottam Month, Magh Mela Will Be Of 50 Days In The Year 2027, Know Which Bathing Festival Will Be Held On Which Date.

Due to Purushottam month i.e. Adhik month, Magh Mela of Prayagraj will be of 50 days next year.

Jagran correspondent, Prayagraj. Magh Mela, the carrier of faith, tradition and culture of Sanatan Dharma, will continue till 15 February. Saints and devotees will leave from Sangam along with Mahashivratri bathing festival. This year, the major bathing festivals of Magh Mela, which started on January 3, took place in the month of January, but this will not happen in the year 2027.

When is which bathing festival in the year 2027?

Due to Purushottam (Adhik Maas) next year the fair will last for 50 days. Makar Sankranti bath will fall on 15th January. The fair will start with this, but Kalpavas will start from Paush Purnima on 22nd January. Mauni Amavasya bathing festival will be held on 6th February, Vasant Panchami on 11th February and Maghi Purnima bathing festival on 20th February. At the same time, there will be a bath of Mahashivratri on March 6.

Purushottam month occurs after about three years

According to the almanacs of Sanatan Dharma, Purushottam month occurs after about three years. Due to this the movement of planets and stars gets affected. According to astrologer Acharya Devendra Prasad Tripathi, in the year 2026, Purushottam month will be from 17th May to 15th June. Surya Sankranti does not occur in this month. Because of this auspicious work is not done.

Dates of festivals will be extended: Acharya Devendra

Astrologer Acharya Devendra Prasad Tripathi told that when Purushottam month falls, the year is of 13 months instead of 12. Due to this, the dates of festivals will be extended. Besides, the time of Magh Mela will also increase.

Bathing dates are being sent to the devotees: Binaika Baba

According to Jagadguru Swami Ramsubhagdas Binaika Baba, the time period for Magh Mela next year is longer. He is already motivating more devotees to come to Prayag and take bath in the Sangam and earn virtue for the same. The dates of bathing are being sent to them, so that they can prepare for the pilgrimage as per their convenience.

Purushottam month became to prevent errors: Acharya Vidya Kant

According to Acharya Vidyakant Pandey, Director of Parashar Astrology Institute, in Sanatan Dharma, time is calculated from solar month and lunar month. In the Yogas and periods like Darshapurnamasadi, solar month is used for auspicious periods like lunar month and Sankranti. The time taken by the Sun to complete a zodiac sign is called a solar month, there is a year of 12 such solar months, which according to Surya Siddhanta is of 365 days, 15 Ghatis, 31 Pals and 30 Vipals.

There will be no marriage or any auspicious work in Purushottam month.

He told that the time from Pratipada of Shukla Paksha to Amavasya of Krishna Paksha is called lunar month. There is a lunar year of 12 such months which is of 354 days, 22 Ghati, 1 Pal and 24 Vipal. To prevent errors in calculation of dates, the rule of Purushottam month (Adhik month) has been made. No auspicious work related to marriage will be done in Purushottam month.
