Troubled By Alleged Fraud Of Rs 2.5 Crore In Commission Firm, A Man Commits Suicide, Case Registered Against Four Relatives

In the case of a person committing suicide by swallowing sulfas in Jakhwali village base under Mulepur police station area of ​​Fatehgarh Sahib district, the police have registered a case against four close relatives of the deceased and started investigation. The deceased has been identified as Sant Singh, resident of village Sekhupur. The police have taken this action on the basis of the complaint of the deceased's brother Gurpreet Singh and the suicide note recovered from the spot.

Gurpreet Singh told in the complaint given to the police that his father has three brothers and the family had been doing joint business of brokering and farming for a long time. After one of his uncles fell ill, his uncle's son Sukhdarshan Singh alias Sukha started looking after all the transactions of both the brokerage firms. Initially the family had full faith in him, but in the year 2024 they started having doubts about the transaction.

Accused of procrastinating when asked for an account

According to the complainant, when he and his elder brother Sant Singh asked Sukhdarshan Singh for the complete accounts of the brokerage firms, he kept evasive and did not give any clear information. About a month ago, the family called a meeting of relatives at home to resolve the matter. In this meeting, Sukhdarshan Singh and his uncle Bhupinder Singh allegedly used abusive language and clearly said that they are not ready to give any kind of account.

Gurpreet Singh alleged that after this his elder brother Sant Singh started becoming mentally disturbed. He says that Sukhdarshan Singh, his mother Harpreet Kaur, his wife Rajwant Kaur and maternal uncle Bhupinder Singh, as part of a conspiracy, had defrauded Sant Singh of about Rs 2.5 crore by taking him into confidence. Sant Singh broke down due to constant mental pressure and fraud.

Swallowed sulfas on 7th February

It is alleged that on February 7, Sant Singh swallowed sulfas at Jakhwali base. When his condition became critical, his family admitted him to a private hospital in Patiala, where he died during treatment. The complainant told that before dying, Sant Singh had written a suicide note in his diary, in which he mentioned the alleged fraud and held the four accused responsible for his death.

On the basis of statements and suicide note of Gurpreet Singh, Mulepur police station has registered a case of abetment to suicide against Sukhdarshan Singh alias Sukha, Harpreet Kaur, Rajwant Kaur and Bhupinder Singh alias Bhinder. Police say that the matter is being investigated thoroughly and further legal action will be taken after investigation.
