Engineer Yuvraj Mehta did not get justice even after 22 days of the incident.

Jagran correspondent, Greater Noida. Engineer Yuvraj Mehta, who drowned in the water filled in the plot dug for the basement of the goods located in Sector-150 under Knowledge Park Kotwali, has not got justice even after 22 days of the incident. Even after SIT investigation, the matter is stuck at the government level. In the neighboring state of Delhi, bike rider Kamal Bhayani died after falling into a pit dug at a construction site in Janakpuri on the night of February 5.

Delhi government immediately conducted an investigation and took action against the culprits. In this case, the sub-contractor has been arrested and a case has been registered against three engineers and they have been suspended. Whereas even 11 days after the investigation report of SIT in the case of Yuvraj's death was submitted to the government, the case is still in abeyance.

Let us tell you that Engineer Yuvraj Mehta was returning from Gurugram on the night of 16 January. Due to fog on a 90 degree road, he drowned along with his car in the water filled in a plot dug for a basement on the roadside. He called his father and told him about the incident. Father reached the spot. Called the control room and called the rescue team.

An attempt was made to rescue Yuvraj for about two hours. Around 80 SDRF, police and fire brigade personnel were present in the rescue team but due to lack of resources and cold water, Yuvraj could not be saved. The rescue team did not even have a rope. After two hours, Yuvraj got drowned along with the car.

The helpless father had no choice but to see his son drowning in the water before his eyes. Delivery boy Munendra tried to save Yuvraj by jumping into the water, but by then he had died. After the matter gained momentum, the government had constituted a SIT under the leadership of ADG and Divisional Commissioner of Meerut Zone to investigate the incident.

From January 21 to 26, the SIT took statements of many including Noida Authority, District Administration, Police Department, Fire Brigade, SDRF, NDRF, Yuvraj's father Rajkumar Mehta, delivery boy Munendra. After inspection on the spot the report was submitted to the government. Even after 11 days, no action has been taken on the basis of the investigation report.

Knowledge Park Kotwali police had registered a case against the builders and arrested them. The court has given relief by saying that his arrest was against the rules.
