Deepak Pandey, Faridabad. While applying online for flats under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, 750 people gave wrong affidavits. The truth came to light when the government handed over the responsibility of verification to the Municipal Corporation. The first condition for applying for the housing scheme was that the applicant should not have any plot or house anywhere.

For this people had to give an affidavit. During the verification process, when the corporation took information from the tax department about those who gave the affidavit, 750 such people were identified. These people were also paying their house tax. Corporation officials claim that the verification is still going on. In such a situation, more people may come forward who have given wrong affidavits.

Their applications will be rejected. 51,000 people from the entire district had applied for the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. Applications had to be given on the website of the Urban Local Body. 51,000 people had applied from across the city. Because of this, a total of 30,000 people were left out of the investigation. After this, the Urban Local Body conducted another investigation, in which only 9,331 applicants were found.

Then a list was made and sent to the Municipal Corporation for verification. Last week, 210 employees of the corporation verified the documents for two days. People were called to the corporation headquarters with their documents. After this, JE will now go to the site and verify them.

The list was also handed over to the tax branch

The list of applicants has also been handed over to the tax branch. Because the name of any person buying a plot or house in the city is necessarily registered in the tax branch of the corporation. Property ID is also created. Therefore, those who might have lied by giving an affidavit that there was no plot will also be exposed.

The investigation will continue even after the allotment letter is issued.

After completing the verification process by the Municipal Corporation, the final list will be sent to the government. After this the government will conduct a draw for the plots. Allotment letter will be given to those who win the flat in the draw. However, final investigation will be conducted even after the letter is submitted. If any irregularity is found, the allotment will be canceled and FIR will be registered.

Verification is going on for Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. The list of applicants has also been submitted to the tax department so that the investigation can be done with complete transparency. More than 200 corporation employees are engaged in verification.-Vijaypal, Secretary, Municipal Corporation
