Farmers Will Get Technical Training On Solar Pumps In Gonda, Applications Invited

Samvad Sutra, Gonda. Under the Skill Development Scheme of the Central Government, an opportunity for free technical training is being provided to the youth, girls and farmers interested in the agriculture sector. This training is being conducted under the Solar Pump Technician course, the objective of which is to enable the participants to become self-employed and generate livelihood by connecting them with modern agriculture and solar energy based technologies.

Scientist Dr. Sudhanshu Tiwari said that the minimum educational qualification for training has been fixed as 10th pass. The training duration will be 390 hours, in which theoretical and practical information related to installation, operation and maintenance of solar pump will be given. Successful participants will be provided certificates on completion of the training.

This training is being conducted at Deendayal Research Institute, Lal Bahadur Shastri Agricultural Science Centre, Gopalgram. Dr. CM Tripathi, senior scientist and chairman of the centre, said that such training programs will create new employment opportunities for rural youth and will prove helpful in making farmers self-reliant. He said that solar energy based technologies will decide the direction of agriculture in the future.
