Jagran correspondent, Palwal. After registering a case against an unknown trolley driver in the case of death of a canter driver in a collision with a trolley parked on the roadside on KGP Expressway on February 6, Chandhat police station has now filed a case against the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for negligence. This action is an example because usually in such accidents, only the driver is prosecuted, but this time the police has also held NHAI, a big government department responsible for road safety, accountable.
Driver will be arrested soon
According to DSP Manoj Verma, not only the unknown trolley driver but also the National Highway Authority has been held guilty of negligence in the case. The trolley driver has not been identified in the case yet. He will be identified and arrested soon.
Search for negligent officers also
According to the DSP, negligent officers and employees of the National Highway Authority are being identified. If any accident occurs due to road potholes, undeclared cuts or illegal parking, strict legal action will be taken against both the concerned department and the driver.
Illegal parking is the main reason for the accident
Let us tell you that on February 6, a canter collided with a trolley parked on the roadside on the KGP Expressway. Canter driver Awadhesh, resident of Firozabad (Uttar Pradesh), was killed in this collision. Police investigation revealed that the trolley was parked on the road against the rules. According to DSP Manoj Verma, the main reason for the accident was illegal parking.
The team of National Highway Authority of India also did not fulfill its responsibility. The negligence of the patrolling team has also come to light in this. According to the rules, it is the job of the patrolling team to remove the vehicles parked on the expressway, in which negligence was done.
