Digital Desk, Jabalpur. A newborn died due to a fire in the operation theater of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital located in Rewa city on Sunday afternoon. As soon as information about the fire was received, there was chaos in the hospital premises. People came out and started running. The staff informed the fire brigade and got the wards evacuated. However, the hospital management claims that there was no loss of life due to the incident. The child was born dead. Whereas relatives are saying that the child will be born alive. It is being told that the fire broke out due to short circuit.
Govindgarh woman had given birth
According to the information, Kanchan Saket (25), resident of ward number four of Govindgarh, was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital for delivery. Brother-in-law Kedar Saket told that Kanchan had given birth to a healthy child on Sunday afternoon, meanwhile a fire broke out in the operation theater and the newborn got trapped in it.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, Dr. Rahul Mishra says that the child was born dead. His body was being sealed in polythene when a short circuit caused the fire. However, the child's body has also been burnt. This incident has once again exposed the security arrangements of the hospital.
