Fire In Pitampura Village: Two Including The Owner Died Due To Fire In A Cardboard Warehouse, The Adjacent Warehouse And Dairy Were Also Engulfed In Flames.

Jagran correspondent, outer Delhi. A sudden fire broke out in a room built in the cardboard warehouse complex in Pitampura village of Ranibagh police station area late on Monday night. Of the five people sleeping in the room, two died due to burning. One of them was also a warehouse owner. At the same time, three other people got burnt, who broke the mud wall of the room and came out in time. As soon as the fire broke out, there was a massive explosion in two cylinders kept in the warehouse, after which the fire spread rapidly. A nearby warehouse and dairy were also engulfed in flames.

Calf also died due to burning

During this time, a calf present in the dairy died due to burning while more than 10 cows and buffaloes were taken out safely. Five e-rickshaws parked near the warehouse and a bike also got burnt in the fire.

Nine fire tenders reached the spot and brought the fire under control after about seven hours. Ranibagh police station has registered a case under relevant sections and started investigation. The deceased have been identified as warehouse owner Brijesh, 26, and Satish, 28. Both were residents of Nalanda district of Bihar.

Outer District Police Deputy Commissioner Sachin Sharma said that a PCR call was received about the fire incident in Ranibagh at around 1.30 am on Monday night. The fire broke out in a vacant plot in Pitampura village, which was being used to store scrap card board and cardboard under a tin shed.

Evidence collected for investigation

As soon as the information was received, SHO Ranibagh team reached the spot. Six fire tenders were called and the work of extinguishing the fire was started. During the rescue operation, five people were found burnt on the spot, who were taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram of Jahangirpuri. Among the injured, Brijesh and Satish were declared dead by the doctors, while the other injured are undergoing treatment.

Police investigation revealed that the deceased used to collect scrap cardboard and paper from nearby markets and sell them. The police officer said initial investigation revealed that the fire spread rapidly due to the large quantity of highly flammable scrap material in the warehouse.

District Crime and FSL team inspected the spot and collected evidence for further investigation. The exact cause of the fire is not known at this time and investigation is ongoing. The bodies have been kept in the mortuary of BJRAM Hospital for further legal action.

As soon as the fire broke out, there was chaos in the nearby warehouses.

After the fire, two cylinders exploded one after the other and the flames reached another nearby warehouse and dairy. Due to which another warehouse and dairy also caught fire. The people present in the warehouse started removing the items. At the same time, more than ten cows and buffaloes tied in the dairy were untied and immediately removed from here. During this time a calf died due to burns.

Warehouses are being run illegally

A large number of illegal warehouses are being run around the warehouse located in Pitampura village where the fire broke out. The land owner has given the land on rent. In which people have made a warehouse by putting a tin shed. In which apart from junk, they buy and collect cardboard and then sell it in bulk. There is an atmosphere of fear among the local people after this accident. People said that warehouses have been being run in the middle of residential areas for many years, against which no action was taken in time, as a result of which two people died in this accident.
