Jagran correspondent, Ara. Bhojpur Police has intensified the search for the miscreants involved in the case of indiscriminate firing and stone pelting on the RPF escort party aboard Seemanchal Express train late Saturday night near Jamira Halt under Mufassil police station area.
About four-five suspects have been identified so far, who are from Jamira and surrounding areas. Meanwhile, late on Sunday night, the police raided Jamira village and picked up two suspects, who are being interrogated.
However, the identified criminals could not be caught by the police. The matter is related to liquor smuggling. It is known that Seemanchal Express Train was going from Anand Bihar towards Jogbani on Saturday night. During this time, smugglers had boarded liquor in a bogie of the train towards UP.
According to the information, Danapur RPF personnel were escorting the Seemanchal Express train from Dildar Nagar. During this time, the liquor smugglers already in the bogie had vacuumed the train near Jamira Halt.
Suddenly, when the train was vacuumed, the escort party personnel reached the respective bogie and opened the gate and in the light of torch, about ten-twelve armed miscreants were seen on the railway track.
In which some pistols were taken. During this time, when the escort party tried to catch him, he hid in the bush and started firing rapidly. Stones were also pelted. Later the smugglers fled from the spot taking advantage of the darkness.
Regarding this, Sanjeev Kumar of Danapur RPF post has filed an FIR against 10 unknown criminals in the Mufassil police station of Arrah.
