Both the prisoners, lodged in different barracks of the jail, are feeling uncomfortable since their punishment. JE kept tossing and turning in the barracks throughout the night. Sleep was gone from his eyes. Similarly, his wife has also remained silent inside the barrack. She is not talking much to other prisoners.
JE Rambhavan, suspended from the Irrigation Department and his wife Durgavati, residents of Kharaunch village of Naraini, were sent to jail by the CBI in 2020 for sexually abusing children and selling their porn videos abroad. In the same case, on Friday the court had sentenced the guilty couple to death. On the orders of the court, both were sent to jail in the evening. The men in whose jail Ram Bhawan is detained in 3B barrack. There are a total of 63 prisoners including Ram Bhavan.
As soon as he entered the barrack, other prisoners started asking him about his punishment. If jail sources are to be believed, he told about his punishment with a broken heart. It also said that he is still hopeful of getting relief from the High Court. However, he did not talk to the prisoners much compared to other days.
He even refused to eat food earlier in the night. But on the insistence of other prisoners he ate bread and vegetables. Even on Friday, he did not take much interest in daily routine and other tasks. There are expressions of contemplation in his silent eyes. Similarly, his wife Durgavati is also not talking to anyone much. He has been kept in barrack number 13. There are a total of 23 prisoners here. Durgavati did not eat properly even on Friday. However, on the instructions of the jail warden, other prisoners are trying to divert the attention of the two.
