Five miscreants arrested in police encounter.
Jagran correspondent, Kaushambi. Five miscreants were caught by the police in a police encounter that took place on Monday morning near Gungwa Bagh of Pipri Kotwali. One of the miscreants was injured by police bullets during the encounter. Who has been admitted to the medical college for treatment. The group of miscreants had been carrying out incidents of robbery and snatching in Charwa and Pipri areas for the past several months. The police have sent the miscreants behind bars.
Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said that Vijay Kumar, son of Ram Lakhan, resident of Sirsi Mohalla of Charwa, works in a private company in Prayagraj. While going for duty, on the morning of 16th December, miscreants looted five thousand rupees in cash and mobile phone at gunpoint and ran away.
On the same day, clothes, cash and mobile were looted from Aman Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar, resident of Samaspur, Charwa, in Manauri market of Pipri. Apart from this, mobile phones of the wife of Karmayogi Jagjivan Prasad Gupta, resident of Ratgahan, Charwa and Rajendra Kumar, son of Roshan Lal, resident of Dashrathpur Sachwara, were looted.
Pipri police along with SOG were deployed to uncover the continuous incidents of robbery. On Monday morning, the informer informed that five miscreants on three motorcycles were coming towards Chail at high speed from Manauri Overbridge.
On this, when the Charva police along with Pipri and SOG in-charge team tried to stop the motorcycle rider by laying siege, they turned the bike and started running away. The police surrounded them near Gungwa Ki Bagh. One of the miscreants left the motorcycle and started running away.
When the police caught four criminals and chased the fleeing criminal, he opened fire on the police team with his pistol. On this the police retaliated and one bullet hit the criminal's leg.
On this he staggered and fell. During police interrogation, the miscreants revealed their names as Sachin son of Ram Bahadur resident of Ratgahan police station Charwa, Sonu alias Abhishek Kumar son of Kamlesh Pasi resident of Bhagalpur Mundera Dhumanganj Prayagraj, Sujal alias Shrejal Bharatiya son of Kamlesh Bharatiya resident of Chakia Prayagraj, Ankit Pasi son of Surendra Pasi resident of Chakia, Babu Rider alias Omi Pasi son of Jhulur Pasi resident of Chakia.
Police recovered three motorcycles, two illegal pistols, two live cartridges, two spent cartridges, 11 mobile phones and Rs 5200 in cash from the possession of the miscreants.
The criminal Ankit who was injured in the encounter was admitted to the medical college. During interrogation, the miscreants confessed to the robbery that took place in the area. The police have sent all the miscreants behind bars.
SP said that 12 cases of theft, robbery, dacoity etc. are registered against Sonu alias Abhishek Kumar in different police stations, five cases of assault, theft, robbery, dacoity etc. are registered against Sachin and four cases each of robbery, theft etc. are registered against the remaining miscreants in different police stations.
