Construction of flyover from Hapur Chungi to Shastri Nagar in Ghaziabad will provide relief from jam.
Jagran correspondent, Ghaziabad. Construction of a flyover will be done from Hapur Chungi to Shastrinagar intersection on the road leading to Rajnagar Extension via NH-9 via Diamond Flyover, Shastri Nagar intersection, Hapur Chungi, ALT flyover.
Ghaziabad Development Authority will bear the cost of construction of the flyover, preparations are on to complete the tender process for this soon. With the construction of the flyover, two major traffic jams in the city will be eliminated, which will provide relief to the drivers.
District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar Mandad said that the people of the city reported the problem of jam on the road connecting Hapur Road and Meerut Road to NH-9. To solve the problem, first the Bridge Corporation officials were instructed to conduct a survey from the Collectorate for the construction of the flyover beyond Hapur Chungi intersection.
During the survey, it was revealed that a flyover has already been built from in front of Sihani Gate Police Station on Hapur Road to RDC Cut. If the second flyover is built on the same road from Collectorate to Hapur Chungi intersection, then the two flyovers will be very close. It is better to build a flyover on the road connecting NH-9 to Meerut Road to eliminate the jam at Hapur Chungi.
Earlier, there was a plan to build a flyover on this road from ALT Cut to near Kavi Nagar police station, but considering the traffic pressure, it has been agreed to build the flyover till beyond Shastri Nagar intersection. The bridge corporation has also prepared the drawing for this.
The District Magistrate said that earlier there was a preparation to take funds from the government for the construction of the flyover, but now the GDA itself has given its consent to provide the funds. Therefore, the construction work of the flyover will be started soon. With the construction of the flyover, people will be relieved from the problem of jam not only on the road connecting Meerut Road to NH 9 but also on Hapur Road.
