Digital Desk, New Delhi. The trouble that started on Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Tuesday evening has troubled everyone, from children, elderly people to patients. Actually, a tanker filled with propylene gas went out of control and overturned near Khandala Ghat. Due to this, there was a long traffic jam on the road leading to Mumbai and the traffic system completely broke down.
Due to the overturning and leakage of a tanker filled with propylene gas, the route had to be closed due to safety reasons, due to which the passengers had to face severe traffic jam for about 32 hours. Amidst this chaos, children, elderly and seriously ill patients remained stranded without food and water for hours.
However, the work of transferring the gas to another tanker was completed late on Wednesday night, with the administration opening the expressway for vehicular movement in both directions after the gas tanker was removed from the road with the help of a heavy crane.

It may be noted that at around 5 pm on Tuesday evening, a gas tanker overturned on the expressway near Khandala Ghat. After which the lane going to Mumbai was completely closed due to security reasons. Due to the closure of the expressway due to the accident, several kilometers long queues of vehicles were formed on both the up and down lanes.
After removing the tanker, traffic was started from Pune towards Mumbai at around 1.40 pm on Wednesday night. After some time, vehicles going from Mumbai to Pune were also allowed.

Trucks, buses, cars and other vehicles were stuck on the expressway for hours. The passengers had to spend the whole night in their vehicles. People stuck in the jam also faced problems in getting food and water. Along with the common people, children, elderly and sick passengers also had to face a lot of problems in this jam.
Traffic is opening slowly
Due to the traffic jam for hours, there were such long queues of vehicles that even after the traffic started late at night, the situation has not returned to normal. Due to long queues of vehicles, traffic is moving slowly. Traffic police are present at the spot and vehicles are being moved in a phased manner.
