Teacher candidates will come out to surround the assembly on 16 February
Digital Desk, Patna. The political and educational atmosphere is going to heat up once again regarding the fourth phase of teacher reinstatement i.e. TRE-4 in Bihar. A grand movement of teacher candidates is proposed from Patna College to Bihar Assembly on 16th February. Student leader Dilip Kumar will lead this march and it is claimed that thousands of candidates from across the state will participate in it. The question is clear – will the government now make any concrete announcement or will the conflict intensify?
Why march from Patna College to Assembly?
The movement will start from Patna College, which has been the historical center of student politics. Organizers say that the march till the Assembly has been chosen so that a direct and strong voice reaches the government. The candidates allege that the government kept giving repeated assurances regarding TRE-4, but nothing materialized on the ground.
Anger erupted in the press conference
The anger of the teacher candidates came out openly in the press conference held on Wednesday before the movement. There were posters in their hands and questions on their lips. The posters cited old promises of JDU and NDA—reinstatement of 1 lakh to 1.6 lakh teachers, 35% reservation for women and the “soon” launch of TRE-4. Candidates say that these promises are now limited to posters only.
BPSC calendar increased anxiety
Student leader Dilip Kumar raised the biggest question on BPSC Calendar 2026. He says that when there is no mention of TRE-4 in the entire calendar, then it is natural to doubt the intentions of the government. Candidates fear that reinstatement may get postponed this year too.
Ultimatum till 15th February
The date of the movement has been decided thoughtfully. Inter exams will end by 15th February and Matriculation exams will start from 17th February. 16th February has been chosen as the middle day so that the candidates do not suffer any loss. Dilip Kumar has clearly said – if TRE-4 is not announced by 15th February, then the march of 16th February will be decisive.
Old tweets, new questions
The candidates also reminded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's tweet of July 16, 2025, in which it was said that the advertisement of TRE-4 would be released “soon”. Months have passed, but the advertisement has not come. Even before this, there were movements three times, but each time only talks and assurances were received.
'This time it's a one-on-one fight'
Directly accusing the Education Minister, Dilip Kumar said that the promises made in January were also not fulfilled. His clear message is, 'No assurance now, vacancy is needed. The march of 16th February is not just a demonstration but is being considered as a test of the government. Now all eyes are on whether the government takes any major decision before this or whether the echo on the streets of Patna will become louder.
