Instructors Kept Fighting For 13 Years In UP, Wave Of Happiness Due To Order Of Payment Of Arrears Along With Honorarium

State Bureau, Lucknow. Part-time instructors working in council upper primary schools of the state have received great news after almost 13 years. After the order of the Supreme Court, now the instructors will get an honorarium of Rs 17 thousand every month from the year 2017-18. Along with this, they will also be given the arrears of previous years.

A total of 24,717 part-time instructors are working in the state. Earlier they used to get seven thousand rupees and then 8470 rupees. At present, he was getting an honorarium of nine thousand rupees every month. After the decision of the Supreme Court, the Basic Education Department has started preparations to comply with the order. This decision will directly benefit the part-time instructors working in all the council upper primary schools of the state.

The instructors are renewed every year, which is approved by the District Magistrate. The instructors were demanding increase in honorarium since 2013. A decision was taken to increase the honorarium in the year 2017, but it was not implemented after the change of government. After this the instructors reached the High Court against the government.

The High Court ruled in favor of the instructors, against which the state government had gone to the Supreme Court. Now the Supreme Court has rejected the government's appeal and given the final order in favor of the instructors.

State President of National Educational Federation Uttar Pradesh (Primary Cadre) Shivshankar Singh said that the restoration of arrears is a big victory for the instructors in the legal battle going on since 2017. State General Secretary Pradeep Tiwari said that the organization had been demanding for a long time to give respectable honorarium to the instructors.

State Treasurer Neelmani Shukla, Media Head Brijesh Srivastava, Minister Dr. Shweta, Joint Minister Ravindra Panwar, Priyanka Shukla, Sonal Sharma and State President of Uttar Pradesh BTC Teachers Association Anil Yadav and other officials have also welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court. This decision of the Supreme Court is being considered a major legal and economic victory for thousands of part-time instructors of Uttar Pradesh.

Hope arose among the teachers also

About 1,42,929 Shikshamitras working in council schools of the state are currently getting a monthly honorarium of Rs 10,000. After the Supreme Court's order to give honorarium of Rs 17,000 to the instructors, hope has also increased among Shikshamitras. Now the state government has to take a decision regarding the honorarium of Shikshamitras, which can be announced any time.
