A plan is being made to deliver Ganga water
Samvad Sutra, Belhar (Banka). Ganga water will now be used to purify Banka's fields and increase the yield. The land of Munger and Bhagalpur gets submerged by Ganga water every year. Now, after reaching Banka, Ganga water will not only give strength to the fields of Banka but also of Munger and Bhagalpur. Bihar government had announced this just before the assembly elections. At that time most of the people considered it to be a mere imagination. But as soon as the elections are over, the work on this project near Badua Dam is going on at a fast pace. Work is going on at a fast pace near Bijikharba Irrigation Office for the last 15 days.
The plan to transport the holy water of Ganga to Badua Hanuman Dam of Belhar is to be implemented with an amount of Rs 1800 crore. 56 kilometers of four to five feet imported strong steel (iron) pipes are being laid from Ajgaivinath Dham to Badua Hanuman Dam. To store Ganga water, construction work of a pond 10 feet deep and 34 thousand square meters in area has been started in the Bijjikharba Irrigation Division premises. The pond will be cast in RCC. Ganga water will be filtered and transported to Badua Dam through the lift system. Ganga water will also be stored in Tarapur. From where Ganga water will be transported to Haveli Kharagpur dam by laying pipes for 25 kilometers. After this, there is a plan to supply Ganga water to Belharna of Belhar and Kozhi Dam of Fullidumar block area. With this, thousands of acres of land will get relief from irrigation crisis. At present, digging work for construction of pond has started in Bijjikharba. Pipes are also being demolished at many places.
A wave of happiness is being seen among the farmers. However, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who came to Tilakpur during the Vikas Yatra, had inspected the dam and announced to solve the irrigation crisis under the duct scheme. But the said scheme could not get off the ground. Now steps have been taken towards doubling the economic income of farmers by taking Ganga water to the dam. In the near future, farmers will no longer have to face problems like irrigation crisis.
