Jagran correspondent, Varanasi. Now there will be no need to come to the city for marriages and other auspicious functions in the village. Now a better lawn-like wedding venue will be available in the village itself at nominal rates. It will also have all the facilities. A total of 60 wedding houses are being constructed in the district. A total of Rs 45.36 crore is to be spent on these wedding processions.
In this, the funded organization Northern Coal Fields Limited is constructing 20 Barat Ghars, Power Grid 15 and Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (RECL) is constructing a total of 25 Barat Ghars. These institutions have so far released Rs 12.62 crore. However, one big wedding hall each is proposed in two blocks, Sewapuri and Kashi Vidyapeeth. A total of Rs 2 crore 77 lakh is to be spent on this. The first marriage hall was in charge of the group: Deputy Chief Minister and Rural Development Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, during his recent visit to Varanasi, had talked about getting the marriage houses being built in the panchayats run by the women of the group. In this sequence, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Gram Panchayat and Mahila Gram Sangathan, including the Barat Ghar built in Arjunpur village of Sewapuri block in Varanasi, in the pilot project.
Under the MOU, the rent of the wedding hall is fixed at Rs 5100. Any person will be able to contact Barat Ghar Gram Sangathan and get booked for all the auspicious work etc. 35 percent of the income from this will go to the Panchayat's account. The remaining wedding procession will also be in the names of the women of the group.

These agencies are doing work in the construction of Barat Ghar: UP CIDCO, Public Works Department Construction Block-1, Rural Engineering Department, Public Works Department Provincial Block, Development Authority. Construction is to be done in these blocks.
