State Bureau, Ranchi. On the lines of Bihar, women can get 35 percent reservation in government jobs in Jharkhand too. This matter is under consideration with the government. The Personnel Department has given this answer in response to a short notice question of BJP MLA Shatrughan Mahato. However, this question could not come in the House on Monday.
In the reply provided by the department, it has been said that in the Jharkhand Reservation of Posts and Services Vacancies Act, 2001, a provision of five percent horizontal reservation has been made for the women of the state.
Post reserved for women for Child Development Project Officer
Apart from this, separate reservation is given to women in certain categories of posts as per requirement by various departments. For example, in the appointment of Jharkhand Police, Roomkeeper, Excise Constable, 33 percent posts of reserved and unreserved category have been reserved for women. Similarly, in the appointment to the posts of Child Development Project Officer, 50 percent posts are reserved for women.
