Gorakhpur Gets Approval For Sewerage Project Worth Rs 721.40 Crore, 1.95 Lakh People Of 17 Wards Will Benefit.

Jagran correspondent, Lucknow. Under the Atal Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation Mission-2.0 (AMRUT-2.0), a large sewerage project has been approved in Gorakhpur district. On Thursday, the Cabinet approved a project worth Rs 721.40 crore related to the sewerage scheme Zone-A-3 in Gorakhpur.

This project has been prepared with the aim of strengthening sewage management in the municipal corporation area. More than 1.95 lakh population of 17 wards will get the benefit of sewage facility from the project. This decision is being considered a big step towards making the urban infrastructure systematic and sustainable. This approved cost also includes the amount of GST and centage.

State government will bear the entire amount of centage

The total approved cost of this project of Municipal Corporation Gorakhpur is Rs 721.40 crore, which includes centage of Rs 27.28 crore. In the cost of the project, the share of the Government of India is fixed at Rs 231.35 crore, the share of the State Government is Rs 435.00 crore and the share of the civic body is fixed at Rs 27.76 crore.

The entire centage amount will be borne by the state government. The partnership between the Center and the State will give impetus to this urban development plan, which is an exemplary example.

The population of 17 wards will get direct benefits

After the implementation of the project, the sewage coming out of 17 wards of the Municipal Corporation area will be treated. For this, 1,95,947 population will get direct benefits through 43,604 house connections.

This scheme is considered important towards ensuring cleanliness, environmental protection and better urban living standards in the city.
