Jagran correspondent, Gorakhpur. Due to the sudden increase in the number of spectators at the festival on Sunday, parking and traffic arrangements were disrupted. Queues of vehicles started forming on major roads and people faced a lot of trouble in reaching the venue.
Seeing the situation, the administration immediately intervened and implemented the parking and diversion system afresh. From 12 noon till the end of the program at night till January 13, vehicular movement will be completely prohibited on the boating-Padleganj route. Vehicles will be diverted through alternative routes and parking will be allowed at designated locations only.
Four-wheelers going from Padleganj towards Deoria, Khorabar and Zoo will not be able to go towards boating. Such vehicles will reach their destination from Padleganj via Amar Ujala Tiraha, Police Station Ramgarhtal and Hanuman Mandir Tiraha. Similarly, four-wheelers coming from Deoria, Khorabar and Zoo will also be restricted from Hanuman Mandir Tiraha towards boating and will be taken through Police Station Ramgarhtal and Amar Ujala Tiraha.
Two-wheelers and four-wheelers coming from Padleganj to the Gorakhpur Mahotsav at Champa Devi Park will be parked in front of Gambhirnath Auditorium. Operation of autos and e-rickshaws from Transformer Tiraha towards Naayan Tiraha will be prohibited. At the same time, two-wheelers and four-wheelers coming for boating from Hanuman Mandir Deoria Bypass Tiraha will be diverted from Transformer Tiraha and parked at Mahant Digvijay Nath Park.
If the parking of Mahant Digvijay Nath Park is filled, no four-wheeler will be allowed from Gemini Gardenia Apartment Tiraha towards boating. Such vehicles will be parked on both sides of the road on the Water Sports Complex route. Apart from this, all types of vehicles going to and from the Planetarium area to Champa Devi Park and Padleganj to Champa Devi Park will be banned.
