Jagran correspondent, East Delhi. The Friends Colony industrial area, built during the British era, has completed 100 years. The longest road in Asia is called GT Road. Situated along that road in Shahdara, this is the first industrial area of Delhi, which celebrated its centenary day on Sunday. Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra and Delhi Industries Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa were mainly present in it.
The Union Minister participated in this program as a businessman, he has a printing factory in this industrial area. For the first time, CM has gone to an industrial area. Traders also exhibited their products here.
CM honored such traders who were given trade license by the corporation in the year 1953, they are still running the industry with the same license. Honoring the workers who have been working in the same factory continuously for 25 years, he said that this is the real capital of Delhi. Development of the state is not possible without traders and workers.
After reaching the industrial area on Sunday morning, the CM first listened to the PM's Mann Ki Baat program with businessmen and workers. After that he inaugurated the traders' exhibition and talked to the traders and workers. CM Rekha Gupta said that the BJP government made it easy to do business in Delhi as soon as it came to power. Licensing process simplified. Along with this, Traders Welfare Board has been formed for the welfare of traders and workers. Enterprises should get new momentum and employment generation should increase. This is the first priority of the government.
CM congratulated the traders of Friends Colony Industrial Area on the completion of 100 years of the area. He described industry as the foundation stone of Delhi's development and said that running an industry is not just setting up a business. This is an important task to advance the country's economy and provide employment to millions of families.
The approval period for green category industries has been reduced from 120 days to 20 days. If permission is not received within 0 days, it will automatically be declared permission. In the last four months, GST refund of Rs 915 crore was given to the traders of Delhi. On this occasion, MLA Sanjay Goyal, MLA Anil Goyal, Councilor Friends Colony Industrial Area Association Chairman Anil Gupta, President Harish Garg, General Secretary Vineet Jain, Treasurer Deeparam Chaudhary were present.
More than one thousand crore investment on infrastructure of industrial areas: Manjinder Singh Sirsa
Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that it is a matter of pride for Delhi that an industrial area has completed hundred years. Initially there were 80 factories here. At present there are two thousand factories in this area. More than 20 thousand employees are employed. This industrial area has always been a leader in following environmental standards, ETP plant is also installed here.
Alleged that there was neglect of infrastructure in the industrial areas of Delhi in the last several decades. This situation changed as soon as CM Rekha Gupta became the CM. Rekha government has already given an amount of Rs 1000 crore in the first year for roads, storm water drainage and street lights in industrial areas.
