State Bureau, Patna. The issue of not admitting a class 10 student in Masaurhi area due to her reaching the examination center 10 minutes late is now gaining momentum. After being denied entry, the student allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the train. The incident is said to have happened on Tuesday.
On this matter, Education Minister Sunil Kumar said on Thursday that the department will take cognizance of this incident. Talking to reporters outside the Assembly complex, he said, as soon as I go to the office from here, I will look into this matter and whatever action is appropriate in the interest of the students will be taken.
When asked whether the government would be lenient in cases of minor delays, he said the government will take whatever steps are necessary in the interest of students.
Earlier, former Chief Minister Rabri Devi strongly condemned the incident during the demonstration outside the Legislative Council. He said that the law and order situation is bad. When a daughter reached the examination center a little late, she was not allowed inside. After this he committed suicide by jumping from the train.
Strict action should be taken against those responsible. The opposition has demanded that the student should have been allowed to take the exam and strict action should be taken against the culprits. The political atmosphere regarding the matter has become heated.
