Even after four days have passed, the police have not got any major success in the search of three prisoners who escaped from JP Jail.
Samvad Sutra, Hazaribagh. Even after four days have passed, the police have not got any major success in the search of three prisoners who escaped from JP jail with the help of a sheet. Six Special Investigation Teams (SIT) formed to arrest the absconding prisoners are continuously conducting raids, but till now the police are empty handed. However, sources claim that the police have come very close to the criminals.
Investigation with the help of CCTV footage and call dump
In search of absconding prisoners, the police is taking action on the basis of CCTV footage and mobile call dump. On the basis of technical evidence regarding the route used by the criminals and the people they were in contact with after coming out of the jail, the police have identified several possible locations. Continuous raids are being conducted in many areas of Bihar and West Bengal including Dhanbad in Jharkhand.
Interrogating family members, police searching old networks
According to the information received so far, the police have taken the families of the absconding prisoners into custody and interrogated them. Especially keeping in mind Deva's past criminal history and his network, the police is thoroughly investigating his contacts. Sources say that some of Deva's old associates are still on the police radar, through whom efforts are being made to reach the absconding prisoners.
Link of old relation with Hazaribagh
During the investigation, it has also come to light that Deva has an old connection with Hazaribagh. He has lived here for several months. In such a situation, the police is also working on the suspicion that after absconding, he might have been hiding with his associates in Hazaribagh for some time. The search for the young man who helped him leave the city has also been intensified.
Jail administration also fell under attack
On the other hand, the role of JP prison administration is also under question. Continuous internal investigation and action is being taken inside the jail. Many former jail personnel and security personnel are still under investigation. Jail Superintendent CP Suman is maintaining silence on the entire matter. In view of security, strictness has been increased at the entrance of the jail and entry of outsiders has been banned.
The prisoners who escaped by making a rope out of a bedsheet and cutting the jail window with a hexa blade have exposed the security arrangements of JP Jail. More than 64 soldiers are deployed in the jail and every month around Rs 10 lakh is spent on security. Despite this, the escape of three prisoners by climbing the high wall is raising serious questions on the jail security system.
