HRTC employees protesting in support of their demands in Shimla. Awakening

Jagran correspondent, Shimla. In Himachal Pradesh, the demonstration of drivers and conductors continued for the second day on Tuesday due to HRTC employees not getting their salaries on time. After not receiving their salaries even after nine days, HRTC drivers and conductors expressed their anger against the state government and management outside the corporation headquarters at the old bus stand.

...give us our rights

Driver and Conductor Union President Mansingh Thakur said that if you want to close HRTC, then close it, just give us our rights.

People are beating buses when they break down on the route

He alleged that there are neither spare parts nor mechanics in the workshops of the corporation and pressure is being created by the management to run faulty buses on the routes. When the buses break down on the route, the public is beating the drivers and conductors.

Preparation to park buses

Man Singh Thakur said that the anger of the drivers and conductors is now at its peak. If salaries and pending financial benefits are not released immediately, then on December 24 the union will take a tough decision on night overtime and will start an indefinite strike and park the buses. He said that due to non-payment of salaries and allowances on time, it has become difficult for him to run his family. HRTC is not in loss, if it is, it is because of the management and government.

Now preparations to change the distance scale on overtime night

HRTC Driver Operators Association President Man Singh Thakur said that the overtime night has not yet been paid to the driver operators in HRTC. He said that currently night overtime is given to drivers and operators in HRTC after 8 kilometers, but now preparations are being made to increase it to 30 kilometers. He said that HRTC employees will not tolerate this under any circumstances.
