State Bureau, Jagran, Kolkata. Suspended Trinamool Congress MLA and Janata Unnayan Party (JUP) founder Humayun Kabir has made his strategy more aggressive for the upcoming Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) elections.
On Saturday, Kabir announced that his party will now contest on 182 assembly seats in the state instead of 135. Humayun's main objective is to stop BJP and challenge Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress.
Clarified that he is joining hands with Pirzada Abbas Siddiqui's party Indian Secular Front (ISF) and has also invited Asaduddin Owaisi's party AIMIM to join the alliance.
He has set time till December 31 for the official announcement of the alliance. Bharatpur MLA Kabir targeted Mamata Banerjee and said that those who are calling her a traitor, she herself has betrayed the public on the issues of Muslim community and Waqf property.
