Samvad Sutra, Nayagaon (Saran). The case of suspicious death of married woman Sarita Prakash in Hariharnath police station area has now come to light as dowry murder. In this sensational case, the police took major action and arrested the main accused and husband of the deceased, Satyendra Kumar, from Khagaul area of Patna.
The matter took a more serious turn when during the investigation the involvement of a police sub-inspector was also revealed and he has also been arrested and sent to jail. The incident took place in Chidiya Bazaar (Koiri Patti) under Ward No. 17 of Sonpur Municipal Council area.
Dead body thrown at the door of the mother's house
According to the information, Sarita was strangulated to death late on the night of 16 January. After the murder, the criminals threw her body at the door of her maternal home at midnight.
According to relatives, a black Scorpio had reached there at around 12.38 in the night. The engine of the vehicle remained running and one person ran away after keeping the body on the roadside.
Constant harassment for dowry
In the morning, when the relatives came out of the house, Sarita's body was found lying at the door. Deep pressure marks were found on her neck, confirming murder. As soon as information about the incident was received, sensation spread in the area and a large number of people gathered at the spot.
The deceased's father Jaiprakash Mahato lodged an FIR at Hariharnath police station on January 17. In the registered case, five people from the in-laws side including Satyendra Kumar, resident of Kartaha Buzurg village of Vaishali district, have been named. Relatives allege that after marriage, Sarita was being continuously harassed for dowry and that is why she was murdered.
Dead body brought in a Scorpio with police stickers
The case took a new turn when relatives told that the Scorpio in which the body was brought had a police sticker on it. After this the scope of investigation was expanded.
On the basis of the evidence found during the investigation, the police arrested Police Sub-Inspector Santosh Kumar Rajak posted at Panapur police station in Muzaffarpur district and sent him to judicial custody. The arrest of a police officer has created a stir in the area.
Hariharnath police station incharge Vimlesh Kumar Singh said that a total of six accused have been arrested in this case so far, while two female accused are still absconding. Continuous raids are being conducted for his arrest. Police claim that the entire layers of conspiracy related to this murder will be exposed soon.
