Jagran correspondent, Bathinda. A youth from Bathinda has accused a Pakistani citizen of threatening to kill him. He has sent a complaint to DGP Punjab demanding immediate security and legal action.
According to the information, Sukhpal Singh Saran, resident of Gurusar Sahnewala village of the district, has been threatened with death along with his family by a Pakistani citizen Sajid Bhatti. In this regard, the youth has sent a written complaint to Punjab Police's DGP, DGP Security, DIG Security Range and SSP Bathinda, demanding immediate security and legal action.
The complainant says that he has been raising his voice against anti-national, Jihadi activities and illegal religious conversion through democratic and legal means, due to which he has been receiving such threats in the past also.
Sukhpal Singh Saran told that on January 28, 2026, at 3 pm, he was going towards Bhuchho Mandi with his friend Gurvinder Singh Ramsara, when he received a call from an unknown number on his mobile. The caller first identified himself as Akram (from Dubai) and later revealed his name as Sajid Bhatti, a resident of Pakistan.
Claiming to have personal information related to Sukhpal Singh Saran's family, the accused abused him and said in clear words that he would kill him along with his family within 15 days. After this threat, Sukhpal Singh Saran moved away from that place and switched off his phone in view of his safety.
Describing this incident as extremely serious, he said that this matter is not only related to his personal safety but also to the internal security of the country. He has demanded from the police administration that the phone number and the person giving the threat should be immediately investigated, strict legal action should be taken against the person concerned and police protection should be provided as per requirement while ensuring the safety of life and property of his family.
